Right now, you’re tasked with planning your reopening process while there are very few clear answers — in many cases, you don’t know how long it will take or what reopening will even look like. It’s not easy.

Still, you got into this business because you weren’t afraid of the unknown. You live for tackling challenges, pursuing a creative way of making a living, and doing fulfilling work that feels more like a calling than a day job. You’re humble, but you’re hardworking, and you’re more than capable of coming out of this thing at 60mph. (Heck, we’d bet on you breaking 100.)

In the spirit of all of this, our CEO, Jerry, recently asked our Customer Experience team (we fondly call them our CX Rockstars) what they thought were some of Schedulicity’s hardest working features that tend to get overlooked.

Jerry sent some of this list out via email earlier this week, but the suggestions just kept coming. Below, you’ll find all the ones he shared plus even more ideas from our Rockstars. Because the more you know, the better equipped you’ll be to take charge of this complicated situation.

Note: Some of the links below require you to log in to your Schedulicity account to see them in action. If you’re not a Schedulicity business already, we’ve waived all our fees until July 1. Sign up today to try any or all of these tools for free.

9 of Our Favorite Lesser-Known Schedulicity Features

Mailing List Filters

Our email marketing lets you get super specific about who you’re emailing through filters. You can send emails by service or by class, but you can go even deeper than that. “I talk to a good amount of folks that don’t know how extensive the filters get,” says CX Rockstar Alex. “You can filter by class, but you can even filter a specific class mailing list by who has checked into the class.”

Cleanup Time

This is a huge one right now given new sanitation requirements. So huge, seven separate CXers voted for it making the list. If you haven’t done it already, it’s so easy to add cleanup times to your services, which will help you schedule safely between clients but also keep even your busiest days on track.

Reports

To quote Rockstar Chelsea on this: “Many people don’t know about what reports they have for FREE! ” Paying attention to reporting is one of the best ways to see how your business is doing, and we’ve got plenty of ways to dig in.

Customizing your unavailable message for appointment policies

Nicolette loves sharing this feature with new businesses who are delighted to find out they’ve got full control over it. If you haven’t customized yours yet, it’s a quick tweak you can make today.

Inviting people to text reminders

This is another great way to keep your clients up to date. Text reminders help you cut down on confusion and no-shows, two elements that will be more important than ever when you reopen your doors.

Birthday Emails + Discounts

While you’re waiting to reopen, you can use our email marketing to reach out to clients and invite them to add their birthdays to their Schedulicity account (the same one they use to book with you). By getting them all set up now, you can automate inviting them in for special discounted services. Those rolling promotions will help get some extra income in your account when you begin taking appointments again. Here’s a whole article on how to do it, including a how-to video to share with clients.

Reliability Ratings

Another one of Chelsea’s favorite hidden gems, a client’s reliability rating is based on how many times they’re marked by you or another Schedulicity business as a no-show. You can set a “baseline reliability rating” that prevents the most notorious flakes from automatically booking time on your schedule.

The “View Listing” Feature

Did you know you can use “View Listing” to see what your clients see when they visit your business profile? “That way you can make sure that everything is set up just the way you like it,” says Rockstar Hillary. “And then, if you ever have questions from a client, you’ll have a deeper understanding of what the booking experience is like.” Here’s how to preview your listing from your account.

Setting Custom Colors for Personal Time Swatches

We love sharing new features. Kelly points out that you can now customize your personal time color, which makes scanning your calendar that much easier.
